The Australian Institute of Energy has invited Mr Dow to speak about the commercialisation of ceramic fuel cells and CFCL’s recently launched BlueGen product. About the size of a dishwasher, BlueGen produces low-emission power and hot water by converting natural gas to electricity through ceramic fuel cells. Compared to current brown coal electricity generators, the company believes that each unit can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 75 per cent or 18 tonnes per unit per year.
CFCL plans to make the Blue Gen product available in Victoria from early 2010 and has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with VicUrban to showcase the units in housing developments.
Registrations for the event close on Wednesday 24 June.
